Our little Snow Angel has joined us in Steamboat Springs. Neve Grace made her entrance on November 7, 2005 at 12:39pm at the local hospital. I think she is a smart girl to plan her arrival just in time for ski season especially since Mommy wouldn't have lasted that long and Daddy hopes to be out powder skiing on opening day. At 12:05 we were hanging out and she was here by 12:39, there was so little action that Wendy had just ordered the epidural, he was putting it in as her water broke and they only half did it. Wendy had a huge amount of pre labor pain and the Neve popped out in 1 1/2 pushes. Her head is far smaller than Alden’s so at least the actual delivery was easy on Wendy.
Neve (pronounced Nev-ee) cried at little to clear her lungs and then settled right down. She is healthy and very alert with 10 fingers and 10 toes, weighs 7lbs (3.175 kilos) and is 18 ¾ inches long (47.6 cm). Daddy made sure to steal her first kiss so any other boy has to get my approval first. Within a few minutes she was eating and only stopped when the nurse came in to check her. She is back at it again now. Wendy feels great and seems to be doing very well.
In case you are curious her name means snow in Italian. If you ask me that was a smart move on my part since now we are destined to go ski the Dolomites and Alps in Italy once she is ready in a few years. I also had the foresight to get engaged in Steamboat Springs and look where that got us.
We want to thank everyone for the outpouring of good wishes and help we have received. We are grateful to have all of you and Neve is a lucky girl to have such great family and friends pulling for her.
Here are a few pictures to get you started. I will get more up soon including some video.
